CPV (Concentrator Photovoltaic) is a technology that is different from conventional photovoltaic (e.g.
crystalline silicon) and thin-film. The most significant advantage of CPV is that it is capable of generating a
much higher degree of output power, particularly under good sunlight circumstance. Areas affluent in
sufficient daily full sun hours and with less humidity (e.g. Southern Europe, South-western China,
South-western part of the United States) are best suitable for the application of CPV.
※The general theory of CPV technology is to concentrate sun irradiation onto the surface of the
solar cell to carry out the optic-electric conversion. CPV features in the following attributes:

◎Use of optical element with high concentration ratio─Fresnel lens
The concentration of irradiation is achieved by the optical design, using
Fresnel lens which concentrates sunlight onto the GaAs solar cell. The
concentration ratio of Fresnel lens ArimaEco uses is 476 times, which
effectively boosts the focus of sunlight.

◎Use of sun tracker with high precision
In order to make sure CPV modules concentrate as much direct sunlight as possible, a tracker
which is capable of sensing sunlight and following the movement of the sun is thus prerequisite.
The tracker needs to be endowed with high precision of movement and is able to move in
dual-axis action so that to ensure the best performance of tracking.
